Mission Statement:

The McAdams School Library participates in the mission of Attala County School District by providing library services, resources, instruction, access, and support for the academic programs of the school community.  The overall objective of our School Library is to assist in providing a quality education for every student and to encourage lifelong literacy and learning through reading.

Library Services:

McAdams Library provides an appealing and inviting environment conducive to learning with a traditional, flexible circulation schedule.   All Library services and collections are fully available to Faculty, Staff, and Students.  The Circulation Desk provides an array of services.  It is the main information point for quick information both on-site and via telephone.  It also serves as the Destiny Automation checkout point for all materials.  You are welcomed to select a book for off-campus circulation for a two week [due date] interval.  Overdue materials accrue fines—10 cents per circulated day.  You are encouraged to utilize the online card catalog and the computer workstations for curricular assignments or research.

Accession Collection:

Our McAdams School Library has an inventory of 5,973 books for circulation.  The books on display are constantly changed to be appealing and to reflect the seasons, curriculum, and student interests.  The Library has a collection of 439 Audio Visual curricular titles for Faculty circulation.  The Periodical collection represents 22 subscriptions which are very popular with the Students and Faculty.  The Periodicals are available for overnight circulation.

Message from your Librarian:

What’s the #1 activity to encourage a successful student?   Read!  Read!  Read!

Studies show pleasure reading is the core of success in school and life.  Our School Library promotes pleasure reading and hosts various “Pages and More” celebrations, along with the NLA events, such as Teen Read! and National Library Week.
